I am honored and incredibly excited to join TAS as the next program director. While I am fortunate to know many of you, I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Chris Loewy, and I’m a long-term Alpental enthusiast and a Seattle area native. I fell in love with ski racing at an early age – racing initially for Alpental Buddy Werner and then for TAS.

While attending CWU in Ellensburg, I began coaching for TAS on the weekends and ultimately became TAS’ head coach between 2005-2010. I’ve had the good fortune of coaching all levels of ski racing from U8 to Masters and have sent athletes to US Nationals, the US Ski Team and the 2010 Winter Olympics. I have maintained close relationships with many coaches and directors within PNSA and Western Region, and I’m excited to re-integrate into the local and broader ski racing community.

TAS has always been a program that values safety, sportsmanship and fun, and I am committed to promoting those values as we continue to grow and develop the program. While it’s hard to believe, next winter is just around the corner, so for all of the athletes, stay healthy and active this summer.
